Method and definitions

Included engagements = reactions + comments + reposts + clicks. Rate by impressions = engagements ÷ impressions × 100. Follower-based rate = engagements ÷ followers × 100. Interaction-only rate excludes clicks.

This is an explicit custom engagement definition, not a claim to match every LinkedIn report. Use compatible exports and avoid counting a subtotal again. Counts are interaction events, not unique engaged people; rates may exceed 100%. Compare posts using the same denominator and time window.

Worked example

100 reactions, 20 comments, 10 reposts and 50 clicks gives 180 engagements. At 10,000 impressions the rate is 1.8%; against 5,000 followers it is 3.6%.
